I used Airalo during my vacation in Turkey. This service was recommended to me by acquaintances who had no issues – they paid for a package for the entire duration of their stay and used the internet without any problems. I chose a 10 GB package for a month, which cost $18. The package includes only internet – most Airalo tariffs offer only data, with regular calls and SMS not included. However, this isn't a problem since you can communicate via WhatsApp. Additionally, the package allows you to share the internet through a mobile hotspot – I shared the internet with my wife this way. As for payment, the service does not accept regular MIR, MasterCard, and Visa cards from Russian banks, but UnionPay works without any issues.

I have become a regular customer of Airalo and even achieved Gold Traveler status in their loyalty program, which provides a 7% cashback on purchases. I have used their services in countries like Turkey, Armenia, Thailand, the UAE, and Egypt. Everywhere I had excellent internet, high speeds, and no connection issues. While you could look for cheaper options with local operators, that creates unnecessary inconveniences. It's much easier to buy everything in advance at home and have internet access upon arrival. Another advantage of this service is that the eSIM is activated manually, rather than immediately after purchase, like some similar services. I usually activate it during the plane's descent, and by the time I arrive, everything is already working.

I have been using this service for several years and mostly have not encountered any problems. There were only some difficulties in a couple of countries where you need to specify the correct APN (this can all be resolved through support, but you have to reach them first since there is no internet). Everything else is great. You can purchase the SIM card in advance, and upon arrival at the airport, you already have a digital SIM card with internet from a local operator. This allows you to easily call a taxi without worrying about finding internet. The cost is significantly cheaper than with local operators. I haven't tested other e-SIM services because I've been using this one for a long time, and it rarely lets me down. Even if there are cheaper options somewhere, saving my nerves is more important to me.

For several days, the internet was working poorly, and it took a lot of time just to occasionally call a taxi or plot a route on the map, while opening a website took about 5 minutes of waiting. The support team misled me for a long time and ultimately did nothing, saying that the problem couldn't be resolved due to a partner, and they didn't refund the money, only expressing deep concern and leaving it at that.
