The colour converter translates a value between HEX, RGB, and HSL and shows a preview. It's handy for CSS, design, and brand-palette work when a colour is given in one format but you need another.
How to convert a colour
- Enter a colour in any format:
#2563eb,rgb(37, 99, 235), orhsl(221, 83%, 53%). - Click "Convert".
- You'll get the other formats and a visual swatch.
Colour formats
- HEX — the hexadecimal
#RRGGBBnotation, most common in CSS and design. - RGB — red, green, blue (0–255), convenient for calculations and transparency (RGBA).
- HSL — hue, saturation, lightness; ideal for building shades of one colour by adjusting lightness.
Why it's useful
A designer sends a colour in HEX, but your mock-up needs HSL to make a lighter tint; or you need HEX from RGB for your CSS. The converter handles these in a second and helps keep your brand palette consistent across every surface.
Frequently asked questions
Are short HEX and transparency supported?
Three-character short HEX (e.g. #39f) is recognised. The alpha channel (transparency) isn't part of the conversion — only the main colour channels are converted.
