I've been working on Insolvo for about six months, and overall, my impressions are positive. First of all, it's an international freelance platform, so payments are made in dollars at global rates. It was especially great a couple of months ago when the dollar's rise made the conditions simply excellent. Even now, when the exchange rate has returned to previous levels, you can still earn significantly more here than on our local platforms. Secondly, the number of available tasks is much higher. There are projects in various categories, from design to programming. I myself work in design. And finally, the fees are reasonable. The platform takes 10% of the amount paid by the client, and another 5% is lost during withdrawal. I have worked on other platforms where fees reached 20-30%, so the difference is obvious.
Now, about the downsides. There are quite a few, so it's easier to list them:
1) English language. The platform is international, and it is not translated into Russian. The same goes for the tasks. Without knowledge of English, you won't even be able to pass the test.
2) Entrance test. It's quite strange and doesn't provide any real information, but you have to pass it. The test has 4 questions: a) you need to provide the birth year of the author of a famous phrase (I think it was Henry Ford); b) you need to state the Dow Jones index at the opening of trading on a certain day; c) you need to correct a mistake in an English sentence; d) you need to correctly insert a link. The first three questions are easy to find online (the hardest was the index, I searched for a long time), and even a child can handle the link.
3) Subscription. Yes, this is a paid platform, and without paying for a subscription, you won't be able to take on a task. The subscription costs about $7 (if you sign up on the registration day, it's only $5.5). It lasts for a year.
4) Payments only through PayPal. There are no other options. Although clients can top up their balance with a card. In general, it's up to you to decide if it's worth it. I have no problems with English, I passed the test quickly, I bought the subscription (I already had experience with such platforms, it's normal as it protects against spam and students who grab tasks first), and I've been using PayPal for many years.
