Hobby Box

I purchased two VPS from UFO.Hosting with a clear requirement for physical and geolocation binding to a specific country, which was critically important for ensuring the geo-compliance of my resource. One day, the service using the VPS became unavailable because the IP geolocation (GeoIP) was identified as Russia. This jeopardized my account, as the server was perceived by the system to be in a prohibited jurisdiction. Facts: the change in GeoIP was confirmed by checks (MaxMind/Ipinfo), the incident was reproducible, and timestamps and logs were saved. All claims that "everything is fine" are refuted by technical data: ASN/WHOIS and GeoIP at the time of the incident indicated the wrong location. The request for a refund for unused time was denied without apologies or acknowledgment of the mistake. The support response was: "If you are not satisfied, buy another server." For a critically important location-dependent case, this is completely unacceptable: a change in GeoIP disrupts access, jeopardizes compliance, and creates direct risks for the account and business. Conclusion: the provider does not guarantee the stability of IP geolocation and is not responsible for the consequences. Recommendation: if guaranteed geolocation is important to you (for example, Turkey), choose a provider that documents LOA/range, provides data center confirmations, and supports prompt refunds in case of location violations. My experience with UFO.Hosting was negative.
