I use the LORI photo bank alongside other platforms for selling photos, such as Depositphotos, Shutterstock, and others. This service has its pros and cons compared to the rest. Firstly, the LORI website is very convenient: the entire interface is in Russian, it’s easy to use, and photos upload quickly and without errors. Secondly, payments are made in rubles to a bank account, and 13% tax is withheld immediately, which saves me from extra hassle. Thirdly, I can upload photos here that, for some reason, are not suitable for other stock sites due to a lack of "commercial value." However, there are drawbacks as well. Firstly, the sales percentage here is quite low. I have about 1000 works in my portfolio, and only 128 photos have been sold. Other authors have a similar situation: for some reason, LORI is not as popular among buyers. The second downside is the bureaucratic complexities with signing the contract and sending it upon registration. We live in the 21st century, and everything should be done online! But this drawback isn’t that significant, as you forget about it after going through the process. I have to accept the low sales; there’s nothing I can do about it. But despite this, my works are still being purchased, and income is coming in, which is encouraging.
